Leiyang City Government of Hunan Province and Kung Fu Animation Co., Ltd. signed the “Kung Fu Animation - Invention World” theme park project on March 4th. The objective is to create an urban super IP and theme park based on the historical figure Ts’ai Lun.
The project, which is estimated to have a total investment of approximately 800 million yuan (about US$ 110), primarily encompasses the development of Leiyang's IP image, the creation and operation of IP-related derivatives, the establishment of theme exhibition halls, theme parks, and theme hotels within the animation industry. The project, spanning 36,000 square meters, integrates Chinese culture, invention elements, and amusement equipment. It is projected to introduce over 300 digital novelty games and more than 100 innovative amusement facilities.
This initiative will not only showcase a diverse range of cultures but will also emphasize the cultural identity of the city. The character of Ts’ai Lun will serve as a guide, offering visitors an immersive experience into 5,000 years of Chinese culture. The project is scheduled to open certain facilities by the end of the year, with a full operational launch expected in May 2025.
