A new AU$100m (US$62.6m) land themed to the world of the Wizard of Oz has opened at Warner Bros. Movie World on Australia’s Gold Coast. Featuring the latest immersive technology, including high-tech holograms, The Wizard of Oz precinct allows guests to ride two roller coaster attractions which are themed to the events of the 1939 film. Flight of the Wicked Witch is a 454m-long suspended coaster which reaches a top speed 67kmh, while The Kansas Twister is a steel racing coaster featuring two tracks which reaches heights of 22m. The land features a recreation of Dorothy’s Kansas Farm and famous clips from the film will be played to guests.
