According to the Qingdao Daily, recently, the environmental impact report and ecological special report for the upgrading project of Qingdao Polar Ocean Park were publicly released on the procurement website before approval. According to the public announcement, Haihe An Group plans to invest 250 million yuan in the construction of the Qingdao Polar Ocean Park upgrading project.
On the basis of improving the park environment, the project plans to add Ferris wheel, landscape tower, and ball screen facilities, which will be constructed by Haihe'an Cultural Tourism (Qingdao) Co., Ltd. It is expected to start construction in April 2024 and be completed and put into use in May 2025, operated by Qingdao Polar Ocean World Co., Ltd.
The upcoming upgrade project will utilize the existing site and internal space of the building, while planning new products, to reinforce and upgrade old buildings (such as the Sea Box, Sea Horizon Theater, and Deep Sea Fantasy). We plan to add a 360 degree ball screen cinema (renovated from the original Beast Island), a Ferris wheel at the Carnival Square, and a landscape tower. At the same time, we will place unpowered amusement equipment around the landscape tower. The 360 degree ball screen cinema, carnival plaza Ferris wheel, and landscape tower are all the main works of this project.
