Swedish amusement park Liseberg has announced a new family thrill ride called ‘Kraftverket’ to open in spring 2025. Kraftverket, which means ‘the power house’, is currently being constructed in the southern part of Liseberg. It is located beneath one of the park’s largest attractions, the Valkyria dive coaster.

“Kraftverket may seem unassuming based on its size, but don’t let that fool you. This will be a true family thrill ride. We are very proud to bring back this classic to Liseberg,” said Andreas Andersen, CEO of Liseberg. He added, “There are long-term development plans for Liseberg, specifically for the southern part of the park. The plan for Kraftverket has been in place since the construction of Valkyria in 2016, and now the time has finally come to unleash the power. Kraftverket will be a perfect complement to the park’s other attractions.”

One of Europe’s leading theme parks, Liseberg opened to guests back in 1923. As part of its 100th anniversary last year, Liseberg introduced the Grand Curiosa Hotel and Luna roller coaster. In more news, Liseberg’s new €110 million Oceana water park is being rebuilt after a huge fire broke out at the new attraction earlier this year.
